What is an Esthetician?

An Esthetician is a professional who specializes in providing skincare treatments to enhance the appearance and health of a person's skin. They are trained in various techniques and services, such as facials, exfoliation, hair removal (like waxing or threading), microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and the application of makeup. Estheticians may also offer advice on skincare products and routines.

While their focus is mainly on cosmetic and non-medical treatments, they are trained to recognize certain skin conditions and can often refer clients to dermatologists if necessary. Some estheticians may work in spas, salons, dermatology offices, or even in medical settings like plastic surgery clinics.

How do I become an Esthetician?

Our curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, providing students with the skills and expertise needed to excel in their field. With a focus on professionalism, hygiene, and client care, our program prepares graduates to pass the Texas licensing exam with confidence and embark on rewarding careers as licensed Estheticians. Under the guidance of experienced instructors and within our modern facilities, students receive personalized attention and support to unleash their creativity and flourish in this dynamic and fulfilling profession.

 

The Esthetician License is a 750-hour program. A person holding an Esthetician license may perform full body treatments, microdermabrasion, facials, chemical peeling, cosmetic enhancements, waxing, and other services provided in the Texas Cosmetology Laws and Rules Book. ​

License Hours Breakdown

• Full time: 25 weeks (30 hours/week)

• Part time: 38 weeks (20 hours/week)
